Our Commitment

For nearly 100 years, our organisation has existed to support and strengthen the wellbeing of this community. We are proud of that history, and we remain committed to providing health services that meet local needs with care, professionalism, and integrity.

In recent years, financial pressures have required us to make difficult decisions, including closing some long-standing programs. These decisions were not made lightly. They were made to ensure the organisation could continue operating sustainably and remain available to the community for the next 100 years.

The organisation has secured a dedicated infrastructure grant to upgrade our building. This funding is restricted to capital works for a health services hub and cannot be used for other purposes. Once the upgrade is complete, we plan to introduce new services that are financially sustainable and aligned with our vision. These services are intended to provide value to the community while helping ensure the organisation remains financially stable for the future.

We understand that change can be challenging, and we acknowledge that some community members have expressed concerns. We are committed to transparency and accountability and comply with all relevant legal, financial, and governance requirements. Our board members are volunteers who give their time and expertise to support the organisation’s long-term wellbeing, while our CEO and staff remain focused on delivering high-quality health services every day.

To ensure staff can continue their work without unnecessary disruption, governance-related enquiries should be directed to Board Deputy Chair Margaret Darton in her capacity as Chair of the Audit & Risk Sub-Committee. This helps us provide consistent and informed responses while allowing operational staff to remain focused on service delivery.

We remain committed to transparency, good governance, and respectful engagement with our community. As the building works progress, we will continue to provide updates and opportunities for community members to learn more about the organisation’s future direction and share their feedback.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to preserve and strengthen an organisation that has served this community for generations.
