Dr Tan is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO).
Dr Jennifer Tan is committed to providing up-to-date, evidence-based and safe treatment to ensure the highest standard of care for her patients. She makes herself as available as possible to both patients and referrers. She is known for delivering exceptional clinical care with a professional and caring approach.

Dr Tan completed her undergraduate medical degree at The University of Sydney. She undertook specialist ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Victoria. Dr Tan then completed a Cataract and General Ophthalmology Fellowship at Monash Hospital, Victoria’s largest cataract service provider. She gained substantial experience in cataract surgery.
Dr Tan has a special interest in Oculoplastics (eyelid and tear duct surgery). She completed sub-specialty training in oculoplastics through the prestigious Orbital Plastics and Lacrimal Fellowship at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

Dr Tan has a PhD in Medicine from the University of Sydney for which she was awarded a NHMRC research scholarship. Her research was part of the Blue Mountains Eye Study, a landmark population-based study in ophthalmology. Her PhD thesis examined possible links between cataract and macular degeneration and cardiovascular risk factors, including smoking and nutrition. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at several national and international conferences.

Dr Tan has a public appointment at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. She is involved in teaching future ophthalmologists.
